This meeting aimed to explore the existing methods of waste cooking oil collection and exploitation as well as the new direction of its exploitation towards the production of 2nd generation biofuels via the associated actions of the BIOFUELS-2G project. The meeting was held at CERTH on Friday, October 15th, 2010. In the meeting not only existing waste cooking oil collection activities were presented but also the new proposed hydroprocessing of waste cooking oil technology for the production of 2nd generation biodiesel. Many representatives of academic/research and business organizations participated in the meeting, while it was also open to the public.
